Should I get light tint or dark tint?
The answer to this question is completely up to you. Some people prefer the lighter tint and some prefer the more aggressive dark tint. Consider whether or not the dark or light will look best on your car. Keep in mind the darker tint will cut out about 5% of the light output while the lighter tint will cut out about 2-3%. Below you can see examples of both.
Why use vinyl to tint tail lights?
We know from firsthand experience that vinyl tinting results in the most professional tint job possible. Other methods of achieving the smoked tail light look, such as tinted aerosol sprays, result in a second-rate look that is often uneven and doesn't match the car's paint job. Additionally, the removal process of such sprays is painstaking, to say the least. Vinyl tinting is gives a uniform, professional look and is sure to turn heads.
Vinyl is also a longer lasting solution compared to other means of achieving the smoked tail light look. It's strength and durability against the elements means you'll spend less time concerned about re-tinting your brake lights and more time admiring your car's fresh look.

Can vinyl tail light tint be removed?
Yes. However, it should be approached with caution, as vinyl has been known to leave cracks upon removal. This is because vinyl inherently smothers the tail light (or headlight) so that heat is trapped inside. After a long time of having heat built up between the lens and the vinyl overlay, the pressure is released by leaving micro cracks, or spider cracks, in the lens. Furthermore, we recommend you leave the vinyl tint on the tail light permanently so as to avoid this type of crazing. One thing you should know before having your tail lights tinted.
Tinting your tail lights is an aftermarket customization that will block a small but noticeable percentage of the light coming out of your brake lights. This is illegal in some states and can result in fines exceeding $100. While most of the light is still visible through the smoked lens, it is can be an attraction for law enforcement to pull you over. Moreover, consider the consequences beforehand before having your cat tinted. Read more on our Terms Of Service.
